Harnesses

The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Reg 1992 states that every employer shall ensure that suitable PPE is provided to their employees.

Harnesses should be tested and CE marked to EN361:1992.

Collective protection or preventative measures are preferred.  Where these solutions are not available or practical fall restraint systems are the next best thing and fall arrest as a last resort i.e. if you can install a handrail protection system then this would be the preferred choice, however as explained in other sections of our site this is not always possible due to space and planning constraints.
